Robert Webster Kirkpatrick was born on 7 November 1891[1] in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia[2] as the first son of Robert Samuel Kirkpatrick and Magdalene Webster Grubb.
He was a Commercial Traveller working for Utting& son in Strand arcade when he enlisted in the New Zealand Army on 8 March 1916[1] until final discharge on 5 September 1919[1].He married Elsie Elizabeth Stevens on 24 September 1919 in New Zealand[3] and had four children with her
He went on to co-found, with the Stevens family, Kirkpatrick & Stevens of Newmarket, a Drapery business[5].
He was a Drapery Business director when he died on 10 November 1937[6] in his house at 12 Keith Avenue, Remuera[7].
He was buried in Purewa Cemetery, Auckland [8].
His will was probated in Australia[9].
