Solomon Kittredge was born 9 Jun 1736 in Tewksbury, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[1]

The History of the town of Mont Vernon, New Hampshire, documents his participation in the French and Indian War during 1754-1763.[2]

Solomon married Tabitha Ingalls on 14 May 1755 at Andover, Essex, Massachusetts Bay [3] Mabel Kittredge names these children:[4]

The DAR and others cite his patriotic service during the Revolutionary War (1775-1783).[5][6][7]

In 1790, Solomon was living in Amherst, Hillsborough, New Hampshire, USA.[8]

Solomon died on 24 Aug 1792 in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire.[4][9]

Probate

In his will written 7 May 1790 (proved 3 September 1792), Solomon Kittredge bequeathed to wife Tabitha all the household items not otherwise disposed of to be at her own disposal. There is also a list of provisions to be provided for her including two cows and four sheep. Son Josiah receives all the estate real and personal and is responsible for paying the legacies, debts of the estate, and funeral expenses. Sons Solomon and Zephaniah and daughter Tabitha wife of Benjamin Sawyer, daughter Phebe wife of Aaron Townsend, and daughter Lydia wife of Joshua Kittredge have received their full shares and will have no more. Sons Stephen and Ingalls are to receive the value of £40 pounds from the estate, and sons Peter and Asa who are minors will receive £40 as soon as they become of age. Daughters Betsy and Sally will also receive £40 in value of household items when they come of age. Son Josiah was named sole executor.[10]

28. IV. SOLOMON KITTREDGE (Francis, John, John), born in Billerica, Mass. June 9, 1736, died in Mt. Vernon, N. H., Aug. 24, 1792. He was a blacksmith, and settled in Amherst, N. H. about 1766. Married Tabitha Ingalls of Andover, Mass., May 14, 1755. She was born Mar. 25, 1735, and died May 8, 1794. She was the daughter of Joseph and Phebe Ingalls; their other children were Joseph, Phebe who married Joshua Abbot, Joshua and Stephen. Joseph Ingalls' will is dated 1752.
