Soldier Johann Klemm served with Dunmore County Militia, Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.

Johann Klemm is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A201253.

Research note There is a Johann David Klemm, son of Johann David Klemm and Anna Maria Gomar, born on 11 Apr 1746 in Ittlingen. He died on 17 Apr 1746.[1] More sources needed to verify parents and birth date and place.

No will has been found, however there is an abstract of a deed, Book M, Page 191, June 7, 1800.[2]

Deed from Teeter Clem and Catharine his wife, Michael Clem and Margaret his wife, (the said Teeter Clem and Michael Clem being sons and heirs of David Clem Sr., deceased), and Catharine Ross, late Catherine Clem, a daughter of said David Clem Sr. deceased, all of the County of Shenandoah; to David Clem, also one of the sons of David Clem Sr., deceased, of the same county. Consideration $40.00; for which the said grantors sell all their respective interests in a tract of land, containing 126 acres, in Powell's Big Fort Valley, on both sides of Passage Creek, being part of a tract o 246 acres granted to said David Clem Sr, deceased, by Fairfax, Dec. 31, 1788.

About May 1825, Rev. Mr. Mayer of the German Reformed Synod of Virginia, preached the funeral sermon for Mr. David Clem in Powell's Fort.[3]
