Biography

According to James Pigg, the author of numerous books on South Carolina records, Rev. Aaron Knight was the founder of Fork Creek Methodist Church in Chesterfield County South Carolina, said to be the first Methodist church in South Carolina.

Richard Knight (1774) has not been located on any census after 1820. His wife Cynthia, age 77, was in the home with their son Aaron W. Knight on the 1850 Chesterfield County, South Carolina census.

Richard Knight died August 4, 1827 at the age of 53. Richard and Cynthia are most likely buried in the Fork Creek Methodist church Cemetery.

One of my 4th great grandfathers. My mother’s maiden name was Knight. I’d like to lear from cousins in this line, especially those who know about the ancients and from whence they came.
Knight-10114 and Knight-4142 appear to represent the same person because: they have similar vital statistics and the same wives.
