Research Notes

Alber L (who went by "Leo" at some point in time) Snow who was born in Vermont around 1824. He married Sylva Vina (Sylvinia) Kohl from NY and for a time they resided in Georgia before moving onto Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Illinois. I have not been able to locate anything that would describe his parents.

He was a "housemover" and moved around quite a bit. His death certificate lists his birthplace as Vermont and the year he was born as "about 1824"... it does not even include his birthdate! I was actually hoping that someone might be able to tell me if there is an Alber or Alby in the family... it may have been a derivation of Albert but I do not know. I haven't been able to discover even where Alber L Snow was born besides "Vermont". I do have a tree online but I have just given you all the information that I have. I was hoping perhaps that one of you had a will or court record which might state the names of his children.... let me know! I will share whatever I have with you, certainly.

Alber L. & Sylva Vina Snow had several children: Francis, Mary Jane & Louis James (twins), Emma & Elly (twins), Charles, Matilda Myrtle, and two children who died between the 1850 and 1860 census: B.E. (male)and Syvinia (female). Francis had two children: Charles H. and Alby L. Snow. Alby died in Macon Ga in 1917... Charles H is buried at Jefferson Barracks in Missouri and died in 1961. Mary Jane Snow married Adam Kestner in St. Louis and they moved to Alton, Illinois, around 1890.[4]

NOTE: The 1900 US Census that recorded Albert Snow as 76 years old, a widower, living in Royalton, Windsor, Vermont, USA, stated that he was born in September 1824 in Vermont and that both of his parents were also born in Vermont. See his WT profile for Source details.
