Biography

According to "Descendants of Dieter Wambold and Margareta Strohauer":

"Johann Henry Wamboldt ... married on 19 Dec 1815 in Lunenburg, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Anna Magdalena (Kraft) WAMBOLDT, born 7 Nov 1796 in Lunenburg, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, daughter of Johann Frederick Kraft and Anna Elizabeth Margaret (Weinacht) Kraft. ...
"The surname Kraft eventually became the surname Croft."

According to the research of Kenneth Paulsen[1] John Wambolt and Anna Magdalene Croft has the following children;

  • Elizabeth (1817-)
  • John Henry (1819-)
  • John Frederick (1821-)
  • Mary Ann (1823-)
  • John Leonard (1825-)
  • John Gottlieb (1827-)
  • Benjamin (1829-)
  • Sarah Ann (1831-)
  • John Nicholas (1833-1909)

There is however, no record of George Solomon Wambolt (born 1839) in Paulsen's research. There are a few possibilities, he could be the son of John and Anna, he could be John Henry's illegitimate son, or he could have been adopted by the family.

Regardless on the census in 1871 Annie (82) appears as a widow in the household of her eldest son Henry (55) with his wife Ann (50) and their children; Benjamin (23), Leonard (21), Christian (18), Edmond (16), Henry (14), Isabell (12), Solomon (10), Elias (8), Celina (6), Freeman (4) and Caleb (2).[2] Just before Henry on the census is Solomon Wambolt (32), with a wife a children, who was talked about above.
