Biography

Jenetta was born on 9 March 1876. She was the daughter of William Kyger and Susanna Showalter. ^[1][2] The 1880 census shows her living in her fathers home in Rockingham County, Virginia. ^[3]In 1901 she married Daniel Long. They were 3rd cousins. ^[4] The 1910 & 1920 census shows her living with her husband and children in Rockingham County, Virginia. ^{[5] [6]} She is buried in the Hanoverdale Church of the Brethern Cemetery in Hanoverdale, Pennsylvania.^[7]

Research Notes

Jenetta died in 1970 when I, Rodney Long, was a senior in high school, so I knew her well. Her family called her Nettie, and that is what is on her tombstone. Her husband Daniel Clark Long went by Clark D. Long, and that is what is on his tombstone. Sometimes in their family documents you will see Nettie C., or Nettie E., but I do not know where that came from at this time. Long-14382 16:50, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
