This profile appears in error --Jacques Lafleur and Marianne Fontenot had two sons named Jean Baptiste Lafleur the first one married married Marguerite Berza the 2nd married Eulalie Deshotels both marriages show Jean baptiste as single the Catholic Church were real sticklers on rather a person was single or a widower when marriages were performed and also Jean Baptiste and margurerite have a son Olivier born 21 nov 1797 and baptised 29 may 1798 according to donald hebert records --Fr Pedro de Zamora Opel ch v 1-a p 201 also their son Valerien was baptised 16 apr 1797 Opel ch v 1-a p 174 thanks Billy

Agree with your observation. The 1777 census shows two brothers: Baptiste and Jean. I have split out the two men and also added Oliver. Have you seen any church record for the marriage of this Jean Baptiste Lafleur to Eulalie Deshotel? I have only found the one Point Coupee Courthouse record that is shown above.
