John was born in 1826. He was the son of William Lamb and Elizabeth Batley . He was christened on 13 August 1826 at Silkstone, Yorkshire. [1]

His brother, George Lamb, died in the Huskar Colliery disaster on 4 July 1838.

The date of John's death is not known.
