In 1911, Grace is noted in the 1911 Canadian Census with her parents and siblings in Sarnia,Lambton West, Ontario, Canada at 277 Queen Street [3]. She is indicated as 15 years old, single and of the Methodist religion. She indicated she had the occupation of "NG", working a full 52 weeks with 60 hours of work per week at an hourly wage of $2, her total income being $200. She noted she was able to read and write.
On the 21st of December, 1914, Grace Irene Lapish married Allen Neil Dingwell in Sarnia, Lambton County, Ontario, Canada [4].
In 1920, Grace is found in the 1920 US Census with her husband, as well as a son Allen and a daughter Esther in Cleveland, Ohio on E. 146 Street [5]. She is noted to have immigrated in 1914 and that both of her parents were born in Canada. She also noted she could read and write, spoke English and was a naturalized citizen.
In 1921, Grace was noted in the 1921 Canadian Census with her husband, her son Allen and her daughter Esther in Sarnia, Lambton County, Ontario, Canada on McGibbon Street [6]. She noted she was 25 years old with both of her parents born in Ontario.
On the 29th of August, 1930, Grace was granted a divorce from her husband Allen in St. Clair County, Michigan [7]. It was noted the couple only had 2 children at the time of the divorce decree.
On the 13th of January, 1946, Grace Dingwell died in Port Huron, Michigan, United States at the age of 49 [8]. She was noted as widowed on the record, though she was actually divorced for over a decade at this point from her first husband Allen Dingwell. It is unknown if she had remarried and henceforth was widowed by a 2nd husband, however. Her name still appears as Dingwell on the death record.
