Birth: 5 March 1804 - North Carolina.
Marriage: 8 October 1824 - Wilson County, Tennessee
Death: 2 Feb 1862
Burial: Old Harmony Cemetery, Johnson County, Arkansas.
His father: Frederick Laster.
Mother's Maiden Name: Nancy Smith.
Abraham Laster went to Wilson County, Tennessee with parents when 6 years old. By 1830's some of Frederick & Nancy's children were married & rearing families - Some headed for frontier land & to former Arkansas Territory. Some stopped at Crowley's Ridge in Lawrence County, Arkansas. Abraham Laster & Dotson Belt families went on to Johnson County, Arkansas settling in Horsehead Township & in what is now the Harmony area. Parents came on to Johnson County, Arkansas from Lawrence County, Arkansas 1836-37 & also settled in Harmony area. Johnson County, Arkansas formed in 1833.

The Lasters were among the first settlers in the Harmony area, is Horsehead Township, Johnson Co., AR. He was an extensive land owner. The old Harmony Cem., and the present Cemetary, the Harmony church, school and Masonic Lodge are all on land once owned by Abraham Laster. He was also a deligate to select the county seat of Johnson Co., when Arkansas was made a state. Credit is given to him for the location and the naming of Clarksville, AR. He was one of the Presiding Elders of Harmony Presbyterian Church when it was organized.
