Catherine Leatheard was born on May 3, 1853 in Mickley Square, Stocksfield, Northumberland, England, United Kingdom, daughter of William Dawson Leatheard (1807–1878) and Charlotte Knowles (1810–1865).
Catherine (19) married John George Kirsop (23) (born on December 18, 1848 in Iveston, Durham, England; son of Ralph Kirsop and Elizabeth (Batey) Kirsop) on June 15, 1872 in Register Office, Durham, DURHAM. Their daughter was Catherine May Kirsop (1893–1967).
Catherine died on November 7, 1909 in St Denis Hospital, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, aged 56.[1]
