Biography

Joseph Leavitt, son of Issachar, son of Joe, son of Jacob, son of Solomon, Son of John, son of Israel, son of John: born 1815 at Turner; christened 16 May 1816 in Turner, Androscoggin, Maine; died 1864. Married in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada in 1844 to Jane E. Creighton, born in New Brunswick. 1860 census finds them living at Turner, Maine, then at Wilton, Maine in 1870, but most of their married life they were at Frederickton. New Brunswick. He was called Captain.
