Mary was born in January 1858 Germany. She came to the US in 1861. Her maiden name, Lechleuter, leads me to believe she was not the biological daughter of Charles 'Karl' Dinges and his wife 'Lizzie'. It is most likely they 'adopted' her as a 3 year old. The Dinges family and the Lechleuter family do have a connection, coming from the same parish in Germany, about the same time. The Lechleuters first settle in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1865, before moving to Washington DC. Wilhelm Lechleuter married Annie, daughter of Charles and Lizzie Dinges in 1886. Mary doesn't appear to be a sibling of Wilhelm's.
