It is possible that the other Buis Ledford- that married Hannah Johnson in 1815- is the father of my 3-great grandfather Johnson Ledford ( 1818-1888. -married to Lucy Chambers). The spelling variations of Buis could mean the two were brothers. We have never been able to find Johnson Ledford's parents with any certainty, and mostly base this speculation on his first name matching his (possible) mother's maiden name of Johnson. The 1830 and 1840 Census sheets do have Hannah with a male child in the right age brackets.

No doubt this Buis Ledford is the son of John Ledford and Grizella Buis. Who is the Buis Ledford (Ledford-479) who married Hannah Johnson in 1815 and who died in 1833 in Stokes Co., NC?
