"In obedience to an order of the worshipful Court of the County of Stokes we the undersigned comm.r appointed to Lay off & divide the lands of the late John Ledford Dec'd lying & being in the County aforesaid on the waters of the South fork of muddy creek, persuant thereto, and agreeable to the last will of the Testator, we being first sworn to do Justice among the Legatees, assisted by Charles Banner Surveyor did divide the said tract of land in the following manner to wit, Lot or dividend No. 1 being Buis Ledfords a Legatees share agreable to the will aforesaid," [description] containing 65 3/4 acres, and 16 perches. "Lot No. 2 which was willed to Phebe Ledford (now Phebe Richards) in the South East Corner of the original tract" [description] containing 14 1/2 acres, 4 perches, "including the mansion house of the decedent subject to the provisions made in the will aforesaid.
