Biography

Pierre DesCoteaux was born on 20 Mar 1726 and was baptized nearly six weeks later on 28 Apr in Saint-François-du-Lac in Canada, Nouvelle-France. He was the son of Claude Lefebvre and his wife Marie Catherine Desrochers. Sponsors at Pierre's baptism were Pierre Lafond and Susanne Rabouin; neither sponsor signed the register.

At age 28 Pierre married first wife Marie Genevieve Louise Beaudet on 10 Feb 1755 in Saint-Antoine parish in Baie-du-Febvre, Canada, Nouvelle-France.

At age 35 Pierre married second wife Magdaleine Houde on 21 Sep 1761 in Saint-Antoine parish in Baie-du-Febvre, Province de Québec.

Pierre died at age 78 on 31 Jan 1805 in Baie-du-Febvre; he was buried the next day on 1 Feb 1805 in Saint-Antoine parish cemetery.
