Biography

Margaret was the daughter of Peter de Legh.[1] [2]

She and her sister, Elizabeth, were co-heirs of Peter de Legh of Betchton.[3]

Margaret married Thomas Fyton, of Gouseworth.[1]

Margaret and Thomas were the parents of:

  1. Lawrence, son and heir, said at the Inquisition regarding his father, Thomas, in 21 Richard II [22 June, 1397, to 21 June, 1398], to be aged 22 years;[1]

Margaret, Lady of Gawseworth and daughter of Peter Legh, died 2 Id. December, 1379.[2] which was 12 December.

After Margaret's death, by the law of England, Thomas held a moiety of the manor of Becheton, of Elizabeth who was the wife of Nicholas de Audelegh, Kt., by knight's service, and of the yearly value of 20 marks; and of land called "Bancrofte" in Lostok-Gralam, held of John de Holford by the yearly service of a rose, and of the yearly value of 20s; that the reversion of the said moiety of the manor of Becheton, and of the land called "Bancrofte" pertained to Lawrence, son and heir of the said Thomas and Margaret.[1]
