Biography

Hudson John Leverett the son of John Leverett and Hannah Hudson was born May 3, 1640 in Boston he was baptized 10th of same month and year..[1]

Hudson married Sarah Payton daughter of Capt. Bezaleel Payton and Mary (Greenough) Payton in 1661 in Boston.[1]

He married second Elizabeth Gannett, daughter of Matthew Gannett and Hannah (Andrews) Gannett and the widow of John Tay. Elizabeth died at Roxbury, Massachuestts Dec. 16, 1714.[2]

Children of Hudson listed in the will of his father, John Leverett:[3]

  1. Elizabeth, married name Cooke.
  2. Ann, married name Hubbard.
  3. Mary, married name Dudley
  4. Hanna Leverett
  5. Rebecca Leverett
  6. Sarah Leverett.

He died between October 10 and December 1 in 1692.[3] His grave is at Kings Chapel Burying Ground and his memorial only has links to those of his father and his wife Sarah.[4]

His wife Sarah Payton died at Boston on June 7, 1679.[3]

Note: The American Genealogist article makes a compelling argument for Elizabeth as the mother of Thomas, this would make his birth about 1680.
