Biography

Mary was born in 1829. She is the daughter of Jonathan Lewis. She was married 05 August 1852 to Peter Davis and they had 8 children. After he died, she married (2nd) to Benjamin Miller (see 1880 Census, Allen County, Ohio: https://www.ancestry.com/interactive/6742/4243496-00415/24926273).

NOTE: She was not the mother of Sylvester Davis (as is incorrectly shown in many Ancestry trees). The death certificate of Sylvester Davis (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Davis-71697) shows that his mother's maiden name was Polly Ann "Filigel", not Mary Ann Lewis. Polly Ann and Mary Ann both were about the same age and married men surnamed Davis, but otherwise there are no similarities (they and their parents born in different states). Furthermore, Peter Davis's widow Mary Ann was living in Allen County, Ohio, during the 1880 Census, with her second husband Benjamin Miller (not living with Sylvester Davis in 1880 with his mother Mary Ann Davis).
