Chedister Ball Lewis Was born 1 Dec 1811. He was the son of Samuel Lewis and Mary Walker.
He married Elizabeth J. Clare (unknown–1849) on December 6, 1832 in Lincoln County, Missouri[1] and Mary Capps (1831–1858) on March 17, 1853 in Pike County, Illinois[2].
He was a Black Hawk War Veteran. He served as a Private in Captain Benjamin Barney's Pike County, Illinois, Company of the 3rd Regiment, commanded by Col. Abram B. DeWitt, of the Brigade of Mounted Volunteers commanded by Brig-General Whitesides. Mustered out of the service, at the mouth of Fox River, on May 27, 1832. Distant 250 miles from the place of enrollment.
He died 3 Mar 1860 and was buried in Burbridge Cemetery, Martinsburg, Pike County, Illinois, United States.[3]
