Samuel Lewis, of Malden, son of John & Margaret Lewis, was born at Charlestown, Massachusetts, June 24, 1641[1]. He settled after his father at Malden and was a farmer. He died there February 1, 1698-99[2].
He married Sarah Dutton 3 Apr 1683 at Billerica[3].
She married (second) Samuel Dix 23 Oct 1706 at Reading[4].
Hannah[6] 1689-1766. She married 1st John Roby; 2nd Abraham Byam.
Mary 1691-1750. She married John Fish.
Abigail[7] 1694/5-1737. She married Mr. Leach (William?).
John[8] 1698/9-1777. He married 1st Martha Knight; 2nd Bathsheba Fuller.
Sarah Dix's Will
As mentioned above, Samuel's widow Sarah married second Samuel Dix. Sarah likely died abt. 1750 (the earliest date in her probate file was 10 May 1750 in Reading, MA). Her will was dated 28 Feb 1737 in Reading, MA.[9] The will names:
My first son, Samuel.
My son, John.
My first daughter, Sarah Raper.
My daughters Hannah Byum and
Mary Fish.
My granddaughter Abigail Leech (likely a daughter of Sarah's daughter Abigail, already deceased).
