Elizabeth (Lightbourn) Turtle is part of a Bahamian family.

Biography

Elizabeth Anna Lightbourn was born about 1826 in the Bahama Islands to Paul Lightbourn and Sarah Petty.

She married John Josiah Turtle, son of Reverend John Turtle and Mary Margaret McLeod Turtle, 4 March 1844 in Key West, Florida. The couple had children - including John Wheelock Turtle and William Fletcher Turtle.

Elizabeth Ann Lightbourn Turtle died in March 1853 in Nassau, Bahamas in the 27th year of her age. The Nassau Guardian reported her death: ".. departed this life in the 27th year of her age, after a few days of severe illness, Elizabeth Anna, the devoted and loving wife of Mr. John J Turtle, and youngest daughter of the late PS Lightbourn, Esq. of this place.."
