The Lindley house at 1833 78th St., Brooklyn, New York no longer stands. A “new” house was built on that lot in 1925.[7]

Howard married Helen A. Riley, sometime after 1915. She was born in Pennsylvania in 1891. They had a son, Howard Mortin Lindley (1916-1997). Helen died on 8 April 1918, aged 27, in Brooklyn, New York, and is buried at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, where many of Howard, Sr.’s family are buried. Their son is buried with his wife Doris A. in Southold, Suffolk, New York. His parents are mentioned in his FaG bio, and linked to his mother[9][10]
Howard Maxwell Lindley, 32, registered for the WWI Draft on 12 September 1918 in New York City, New York. He was born 13 April 1886 in the United States, and resided at 1525 72nd St., Brooklyn, NY. Lindley worked as an elevator mechanic at Equitable Office Building Corp. company, 120 Broadway, NYC. He was short, with a medium build, blue eyes and dark brown hair. The first phalange of the middle finger of his left hand was amputated. Lindley’s contact was his (minor aged) son, Howard M. Lindley, 1525 72nd, Brooklyn.[11]
The Lindley home at 1525 72nd, Brooklyn was replaced (per Zillow) by a new apartment building in 1920 (or, it may be the same building, because they still lived there in 1920. See below).[12]

In 1930, the Lindleys lived in a rented house on Montgomery Avenue in Lower Merion, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. They did not have a radio. Howard M. Lindley, 42, was born in New York, a butler, who married at age 33. His wife, Hilda S., 35, a cook, was born in Finland. She immigrated in 1916, and was a naturalized citizen, who married at age 26. They both worked for a private family.[15]
NOTE: Howard’s son, Howard (Jr.), 14 (b. NY ca. 1916), lived with Sr.’s two sisters, Emma Harries and Clara M. Lindley, in Brooklyn, NY in 1930.[16]
In 1942, Howard Maxwell Lindley registered for the WWII Draft. Lindley was born on 13 April 1886, and in 1942, he was a resident of Ayer, Middlesex, Massachusetts.[17]
Howard Lindley, born 13 April 1886, died in Massachusetts in May 1968. He was 82. His last residence was Middlesex County, Massachusetts.[18]
