"Daniel Lindsay, born near Argyle, New York, August 14, 1773, was a farmer and lumberman. He married Eleanor, usually called " Polly" Mclntyre. She died soon after their marriage, and he afterward married Martha McDowall, a sister to Betsy McDowall, who married David Lindsay. from the time of his second marriage until 1820 or 1822, he lived on a farm in Northumberland, New York. At the above-mentioned date he moved to North Hudson, Essex county, New York; moved from there to Addison, Vermont, New York. 153 and died there August 12, 1840. His wife died in Malone, New York, in 1862, aged eighty years.
Daniel Lindsay was not a large man, weighing about one hundred and sixty-five pounds, but...developed, physically. He was a Mason of high degree, and his Masonic apron is in the possession of his daughter, Hannah M. Howard ; she also has a Royal Arch Jewell bearing date 5800, which he owned. He belonged to a Lodge and a Chapter in Fort Edward, New York."
All his children were christened at Saratoga Reformed Dutch Protestant Church, in Schuylerville, Saratoga, NY.
