Notes

  • Catherine Lindsey Catherine LINDSEY, daughter of Hezekiah LINDSEY and Eliza FISHER, was born 30 Jul 1788 in _______, _______. She died 29 Aug 1842 in Pierce Twp., Claremont Co., Ohio, and was buried in _______ _______. She came to Claremont Co., Ohio, before 1800. No children have yet been identified. [2]
  • Catherine "Caty" Lindsey mentioned in notes by Betty L. Fisher regarding John's military service:
"John served as Commander of the Southern Ohio Militia. He made his home near Laurel and he and his wife Catherine "Caty" Lindsey are buried in a family plot not more than a mile from here. John and Caty had ten children, two of whom died in childhood and were buried in their grandfather Johns private grave yard. John L. as remembered by his grandson, Franklin Clifford was a devout Christian. He read the Bible through many times in his life time and was very strict in his observance of the laws of God. Perhaps this explains the fact that three of his grandsons, brothers of Franklin Clifford and a son of William Oscar and Lavanda Nochols became ministers-two in the Methodist faith and one in the United Brethern faith. Charles served many years as pastor of the Williamsburg and Bethel Methodist Church."
