Biography

John Norman Lingard was born July 1st, 1868 in Tenecape, Nova Scotia to John Lingard and Rebecca (Hill) Lingard.

John's father, who died when John was just a baby, was a Farmer in Tenecape, Hants County, Nova Scotia. John followed in the same occupation.

His widowed Mother Rebecca married James Banford Wheaton.

He married Hannah Minerva Hill May 12, 1892 in Tenecape, Hants County, Nova Scotia by Presbyterian Lisence, the Reverend Alex Campbell officiating. Witnessess at the wedding were M. Terhune and John McCulloch.

At the time of his death on March 4, 1939, at the age of 70 years 8 months 1 day, he was a widower. The informant for his death was his son Ray Lingard from Moosebrook, Hants County. He was buried in the Moosebrook Cemetery March 7, 1939.
