Research Note
I've decided that this Catherine didn't marry this William Hall who's in this 1871 census record. [8] Their ages are right, but her location of birth is Ireland. According to their child's death certificate [9], that Catherine's last name a birth is Durick. X-7764 02:39, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Catherine by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Catherine:
I'm thinking it feels more accurate, at least as it stands, not to necessarily marry this Catherine to William Hall (abt.1826-aft.1900). I'd dearly wish it were true but, as you say, for various reasons it just doesn't seem to add up. Thanks.
I'll make a separate William Hall for this Catherine Lint. The census information doesn't add up. I think the burial location belongs to Catherine Lint, because Bear Island is where Lawrence Lint and Amos Lint moved to.
I'm also unsure if this is the correct William Hall as spouse. The death certificate of daughter Ida May (Hall) Howland has Catherine Hall's maiden name as "Durick." There is also the issue of the Catherine in the 1871 Census household of William Hall with a birth place of Ireland. (https://central.bac-lac.gc.ca/.item/?app=Census1871&op=pdf&id=4396657_00645)
