Biography

The biography for K. Charles Lloyd is empty. What can you add? Hello, I am from Detroit and currently living in central Ohio. I served in the Navy for three years. My curiosity in genealogy came from my grandaunt Tweet. Began researching in 2005 to find my great grandmother, Lizzie Davis Bowden, family and where they are from. This project took a turn from researching my paternal side to maternal side. When my mom requested that I research for her side of the family. I initially said no but my conscience overrule my desire. So started researching the Conrad family. I am glad I pursue it. I learn a lot and still learning.

Hi Charles,

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful?

Please do let me know if you have any questions about how WikiTree works, no matter how small. My rule of thumb when I started was to search for an answer for five minutes, then reach out to my Greeters, and then resume searching. I might have found the answer before they got back with me but they sometimes offered a different way of doing the same thing which was easier.

You can reach me by using the reply link for this comment or send a private message from my profile by clicking my name. See you in the branches,

Debi ~ WikiTree Greeter

P.S. Did you discover that the Tags you follow (names in green boxes) are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? They also control the information which is included in the activity reports which you receive from WikiTree. You can add up to 20 total, or delete some if you are receiving irrelevant information.

Hi K Charles,

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, it can sometimes help to add what you know on another line. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. 24 hours after you connect to an existing profile, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches which relate to the particular branches you are researching.

Let me know if you have any questions and have fun!

Hilary ~ WikiTree Greeter

PS :One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
