Biography

Power of Attorney

In 1819 Richard Long (son of William Long and grandson of Edward Long Sr.) obtained Power of Attorney for his brother, Edward and his cousin, Jane Long Turpin (wife of Solomon Turpin, daugher of Thomas Long, and granddaughter of Edward Long Sr.). Both Edward and Jane had been named in Edward's will, and Richard is selling their share of Edward's estate to Joshua Pritchett. A few months later in the same year, Edward Sr.'s widow, Jane, gives her Power of Attorney to William Beck and James Williams. .
