He married Caroline Ann Saunders on 27 February 1852 in Key West, Florida, in a ceremony performed by J. M. Breaker, Pastor of "Bablest" Ch. (Probably Baptist Church) Key West.[2]
William died on 10 April 1889 in Key West,[3] and he is buried there in the City Cemetery.[4]
