Private Joseph Lowell served with General Stark's Brigade, New Hampshire Militia during the American Revolution.

Joseph Lowell, son of John and Mary (Davis) Lowell, was born May 8, 1720 at Haverhill, MA. [1] (p. 30) [2]

He married about 1745, Martha Bradbury who was born in Salisbury, MA on Feb. 3, 1727, daughter of John and Hannah (Greeley) Bradbury. [2][3] (p. 35)[4](p. 79) [5] (p. 44; pp. 84-5)[6]

  • 1745: John was on the tax list of West Dunstable (now Hollis, NH). [2]
  • 1746: Dec. 24: They lived in Salem, NH where he and his Martha 'owned the covenant'; daughter Phoebe was baptized there at that time. [2]
  • 1747 - 1761: He was of Nottingham Wes,t NH (now Hudson). [2]
  • 1753: He was on the tax list at Notthingham West for the first time. [2]
  • 1761: Joseph and Martha Lowell gave receipts for Martha's inheritance from her uncle Joseph Greeley. [2]
  • 1767: Joseph was a husbandman in Townsend NH and bought land there March 22. [2]
  • 1768: He bought land of ___Blanchard at Townsend. [2]
  • 1768: 69: 71: 78: He was in Mason NH. [2]
  • 1774: Joseph was on the New Ipswich, NH tax list. [2]
  • 1778: March 3: He and Martha deeded land at Mason to their son Joseph. [2]
