Biography

Michael was born 13 Feb 1851 into the large pioneer family of John B and Polly (Mizer) Lowry. His father gave him 40 acres and he soon married Phoebe Mizer, on January 1, 1871 in Laclede, Missouri.^{[1] [2]}She was the daughter of John L and Polly Mary (Hale) Mizer.

Michael was a Blacksmith and his land was just up the road from the Lowery Cemetery. He was a hot tempered, a strong very much in control man to the point of dictating who his children married. He died of Typhoid Fever the 18 of Oct 1899 and was laid to rest in the Lowery Cemetery of his fathers making. Michael left Martha with four children at home to care for and about 1907 she sold out and moved to Iowa with Nick and Thomas to join her other children there, leaving daughter now Nancy Garner behind in Lebanon.

Michael Thomas is buried in the Lowery Cemetery.^[3]
