Biography

Jerome Ludwig was born on November 18, 1859 in Mount Joy, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, son of Emanuel M Ludwig (1822–1882) and Hannah Stager (1824–1861).

On May 7, 1882 he married Mary Magdalena (Stipe) Ludwig (1866-1936) and together they had 9 children: Oliver Jackson Ludwig (1883-1962), Jerome Cleveland Ludwig (1887-1955), Rachell Stella Ludwig (1889-), Charles Edwin Ludwig (1890-1950), Mary Magddleane Ludwig (1895-), Ruth Ester Ludwig (1896-1977), Hilda Pecolla Ludwig (1899-), Melvin Llewellyn Ludwig (1906-1915), and Emily Mearl (Ludwig) Weaver (1908-1993).

He lived his whole life in Dauphin County and worked as a machinist in a pipe mill.

He passed away on December 10, 1934 at the age of 75 and was buried at Middletown Cemetery.
