Biography

Benjamin Lukens was born to Peter and Gaynor Lukens about 1731. The birthdates of Peter and Gaynor's children were not recorded so their exact birth dates are not known.[1]

Benjamin married Alice Cadwallader on 9/10/1755 and they had eleven children together.

"On 9/10/1755 at Presbyterian Church in Abington, Benjamin m. Alice Cadwallader, daughter of Jacob and Magdalene (Conrad) Cadwallader.[3] After being disowned by the Abington Monthly Mtg for marrying contrary to discipline, Alice and Benjamin produced an acknowledgement of the wrongdoing which was accepted by the meeting on March 21st, 1757.[4] The reinstatement lasted only a year as on April 24th, 1758, the Horsham Preparative Meeting complained against Benjamin and his brother, Evan for attending several marriages contrary to discipline."[5] [6]

"In 1795, Benjamin Lukens was granted a land patent of 261 acres called 'Alice's Garden' in Hartford County, MD.[7] On 2/29/1810, Benjamin and Alice conveyed 100 acres of that plot to Jacob Lukens, who was assumed to be his son.[8]

Benjamin's will is dated 5/9/1817 and was Proved 8/23/1818 in Harford County, MD.[9]

Lukens-150 and Lukens-128 appear to represent the same person because: I just completed a merge for his father, Peter Lukens, each profile had a profile for son Benjamin Lukens. Which now need to be merged to clear the duplicate profile.

The two profiles match up, same birthdate and wife listed in bio.
