Mary Lunsford was a daughter of Thomas Lunsford and Katherine Neville. She was born in 1647 at the Tower of London.[1]
On 07 Aug 1649 her father Sir Thomas Lunsford was granted a pass for the family to go to Virginia.[2]
Sir Thomas Lunsford died before 11 Jan 1653/1654 as on that date an order was made for Sir John Thorowgoood to maintain the three children of Sir Thomas Lunsford who married Katherine Nevill, daughter of Dame Elizabeth, now wife of Sir John Thorowgood. The said children, Elizabeth, Phillipa and Mary Lunsford, were carried away by their parents to Virginia and remained there until their parents' demise. They were then sent back to the parish of St Andrew, Holborn.[3]
Mary married Thomas Collier, brewer, of Shoe Lane[1][4], the marriage taking place on 30 Nov 1665 at Waltham St Lawrence, Berkshire.[1]
Thomas Collier was recorded at Shoe Lane in the Hearth Tax of 1666.[5] NB Shoe Lane was in the ward of Faringdon Without. Although outside of the city wall, Faringdon Without was a ward of the City of London.
Mary was a widow by 1679.[6][7]
