Biography

James Lyon was born about 1831 at Elamsville, Patrick County, Virginia, a son of Sarah "Sally" (Hatcher) and William Lyon.

He married in 1859 in Patrick County, Virginia, Sarah Pendleton [1].

Per his grave memorial, James Lyon was conscripted in 1861 [into the Confederate Army, Company D, 12th Virginia], and was captured at the Battle of Seven Pines/Fair Oaks. He was sent to Fort Delaware Prison Camp. James Lyon died 28 July 1862 at Fort Delaware Prison Camp, Fort Delaware, New Castle, Delaware, USA. He was buried in Finn's Point National Cemetery, Pennsville, Salem County, New Jersey, USA [2].
