Research Notes

Was his death in 1605 or after 1649 ? This profile has a FindAGrave memorial with the same parents and the same spouse. But there is inconsistent info on that FindAGrave memorial ...

Find A Grave: Memorial #206251710 for Donald MacKay, b: 1560 Durness, Highland, Scotland; d: 1605 Durness, Highland, Scotland; as burial unknown.

But that FindAGrave bio says contrarly ....... "He was along with Lord Reay at the affair of Balveny in 1649".

In a Wikisource aticle about the Lords Reay, it mentions that John Mackay, second Lord Reay, took part in an unsuccessful royalist insurrection in the north in 1649 ... and it would appear that some years later, that John was taken prisoner at Balveny.

The birth dates given for parents make them too young to be parents. Pease check parentage or dates of birth for parents. Perhaps in correct merging of individuals?
