Research Notes

As I am researching this Madder Line, there is a lot of intermixing Madder and Mather, especially when you get to Edward. Eleanor Todd nee Madder burial shows her age 64 at death in 1816 making her birth year 1752. Although this seems definitive to be sure I entered a year span of 1736 to 1756 for Ellin/Eleanor Madder and Mather. I used Lancashire on Line Parish Project, Ancestry, Family Search, and Find my Past. There were only 2 Eleanor Madder, one of those I eliminated because she was born in Cheshire. of the 12 Mather results all but 3 could be eliminated because of Spousal names, marriage locations and dying as infants. The other three I eliminated because the name was Mather and first names did not fit and although born in Lancashire, the location was in the Liverpool Manchester and surrounding areas. As the Ellin in this profile born in Aldingham is in the Ulverston and surrounding areas associated with this particular line.

As you click on Edward Madder in this profile, it shows Edward Madder married to Elizabeth Fisher as parents. There is a Edward MATHER married to Elizabeth Fisher on May 5 1751 at St Mary, Dalton in Furness, Lancashire England. This seems probable, but more research needed to make sure this isn't one of the intermixing of Madder and Mather sirname.

Madder-76 and Madder-3 appear to represent the same person because: They appear to be the same person. Same husband.
