Once again, the author of "Trailing Our Ancestors" has incorrect information about another son of Alexander Maddux who died in 1768 in Somerset County, Maryland. His son, Alexander Maddux, who married Elizabeth Powell in 1754, is not the Alexander Maddux found in the records of the state of Georgia. This is proven by his Last Will and Testament written on the 28th day of January 1775. That Alexander apparently had no living children when he died in 1775. He makes special bequests to Jesse Powell, Rachel Langford, wife of Lazarus Lankford, Betty Holland, and daughter of Michael Holland. Jesse Powell and Rachel Powell, married to Lazarus Langford, are the children of John Powell as seen on his profile.
