Biography

Hannah Main was born to Sebbeus and Hannah (Cole) Main on May 30, 1797 at Love's Mill, Washington County, Virginia.

She married John Wilson (1793-1856 -- son of James and Mary (Eaton) Wilson) on September 23, 1817 in Washington County, Virginia.

They lived in Love's Mill, Virginian, then Delaware, Ohio, and between 1835/6 they sold all their property and moved just north of Marion County, Ohio. Here their oldest son, Moses (born 1818) married Sarah Van Meter.

Between 1850/55 Hannah and John and their younger children moved to McDonough County, Illinois with John's brother Lambert and his wife Allie. It appears that Moses and Sarah also moved there around the same time.

John and Lambert died in McDonough County, Illinois soon after and the sisters-in-law (Hannah and Allie) stayed there and raised their families.

Hannah and John and buried in Barkers Cemetery in Fulton County, Illinois.
