Records in Mason Co, Kentucky state that MALINDA’S mother was "MARY MILLS, formerly MARY MASTERS." Several writers have speculated that her father was Robert Masters, but so far there appears to be no supporting evidence that she is the daughter of Robert and Mary Masters of Prince George's and Frederick Counties, Maryland.
Those same records state that MARY MILLS died around 1804, and that four daughters and one son shared in her estate. Those named were:
NATHAN MASTERS of Ohio Co, Virginia, an area which later became Marshall Co, West Virginia.
Wife of JEREMIAH RIGGS, of Pike Run Twp, Washington Co, Pennsylvania, and mother of WILLIAM and SAMUEL RIGGS. An abstract of JEREMIAH’S WILL, dated 1830, names wife MARY.
Wife of JOHN RIGGS, probably of either Mason Co, Kentucky or Lewis Co, Kentucky. Her name may be Chloe.
Wife of THOMAS McGINNIS, of Mason Co, KY. Some have her name as Mary Ann.
Wife of GEORGE MEFFORD, of Mason Co, KY

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Malinda by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Malinda:
Hi, I've been following the case of ancestor Malinda Masters for at least 30 years now. The evidence for or against the case of Robert Masters's being the father of Malinda has been lacking. Thus I haven't worried about this impasse. However, there is now a substantial amount of DNA evidence again supporting this as being correct.
Is anyone working on this? I'd like to revive this issue in light of newly available evidence. I'll be happy to assist in this effort. Is anyone active in considering this case? I'd like to review the case and the previous arguments before beginning in earnest to document the DNA evidence.
If you're interested in this case or can provide historical arguments, analysis, evidence, please contact me. Thank you. - Greg Lamberson
Masters-1802 and Masters-884 appear to represent the same person because: Hi, I think you'll recognize these as obvious duplicates. If not, please contact me.
