Angie was born in Houston on 21 Mar 1934, the daughter of Dominick Mauro and Mary Cash. She was the granddaughter of Italian immigrants and was greatly involved in the Italian culture.
Angie was a life long member of St. Anthony's Church in Bryan, Texas, where he attended with his wife of 68 years, Red Scarmardo. She joined Red as he ventured into many job opportunities throughout his life, including farming, property development, and running both an insurance company and grocery store.
She loved to cook and bake, and supported the Texas A&M Aggies. She and her husband had three children: James Michael Scarmardo, Diane Leflore, and Donald R. Scarmardo.
