Martha (Maxey) McMahan has Irish ancestors.
When Martha Lea Maxey was born on March 5, 1930, in Farris, Oklahoma, her father, Robert, was 23, and her mother, Ola, was 18. She married Wayland Edgar McMahan on June 1, 1948, in Antlers, Oklahoma. She died on April 19, 2018, in Antlers, Oklahoma, at the age of 88, and was buried there.[1]

Martha Lea McMahan passed peacefully from this life on April 19, 2018, in Antlers, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years old. She was born to Robert L. and Ola Ruth (Collett) Maxey on March 5, 1930, in Farris, Oklahoma. Martha married Wayland E. McMahan on June 1, 1948, in Antlers, Oklahoma, and they were happily married for nearly 70 years. She enjoyed sewing and taking care of her home and was also a member of Oklahoma Extension Homemakers. Martha received the Homemaker of The Year Award in 1988, the Pushmataha County Heart of HCE Award in 2002, and was the OKDHS Volunteer Award recipient in 2011. Martha was also a proud member of the Miller Baptist Church. She was a beloved aunt, great aunt and great- great aunt; and was the glue that held her family together. Martha is preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Ola Maxey and a sister: Wanda McMahan. Services for Martha will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 at Darwin Baptist Church with internment to follow at Darwin Community Cemetery.
