Columbia Co., PA Will Book Vol 1 pages 11-12 1814 James McAffee Will No 6 Will In the name of god amen I James McAffee of the township of Turbutt County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania being in a weakly Condition but sound in mind and memory being fully convinced of the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death and a future state of existence beyond the grave Do commit my soul unto the hands of god who gave it and my body to the dust to be buried in a decent and Christian manner by my executors in hope of obtaining through Christ Jesus a glorious resurrection form the grave And as to such worldly goods it hath pleased god to bless me with, I order and it is my will that they be disposed of in the following manner Inprimus It is my will that my lawful debts and Funeral expenses be paid by my Executors Secundo I bequeath to my beloved wife Jane McAffee the half of the income of all my estate real and personal during her natural life she paying the half of the expense necessary to carry on the business thereof or work the same and all my household furniture to her her heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever Tertio I bequeath to my beloved son James McAffee all my estate real and personal excepting only what I have already devised to my wife Jane to him his heirs, administrators and assigns forever And it is my will that my lawful debts and funeral expenses be equally paid by my wife Jane and son James that is each one half thereof out of what I have devised to them And I do constitute and ordain and appoint my Beloved wife Jane McAffee and my son James McAffee Executors of this my last will and testament and I do notify ordain and appoint this to be my last will and testament and do hereby revoke and disannull all wills and testaments by me formerly made appointing and confirming this above to be my last will and testament In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28 day of July 1806. James McAffee {seal} Signed sealed declared and pronounced in presence of John Bryson John Russell John (his X mark) Hayndeht --- Columbia County be it remembered that on the fourth day of April A.D. 1814 before George A Frick Deputy Register for the county aforesaid John Russel one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will and being duly sworn saith that he was personally present and did se James McAffee the testator sigh seal publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament that at the time of doing so the testator was of sound mind and disposing memory to the best of his knowledge that he witnessed the same in his presence and at the request of said testator and that the names John Bryson & John Wyndright subscribed as witnesses were written by John Bryson & John Wyndright in the presence of testator and in his presence and also that he wrote his name thereto in the presence of said witnesses John Russell sworn and subscribed the day and year aforesaid before Geo. A. Frick Depty. Reg. --- Columbia County Be it remembered that on the 23d day of April A.D. 1814 before Andrew Furguson one of the justices of the County aforesaid came the Revd. John Bryson one of the subscribing witnesses to the forgoing and following will and being duly sworn did saith that he was personally present and did see James McAffee the testator sign seal publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament that at the time of so doing the testator was of sound mind and disposing memory to the best of his knowledge that he witnessed the same in the presence and at the request of said testator and that the names of John Russell and John Wyndright were written by John Russell and the said Bryson and said Wyndnight set his mark betwix his name and the name in the presence of the Testator and in the presence of said Bryson and also that he wrote his own name thereto in the presence of said Witnesses John Bryson sworn and subscribed the day and year aforesaid before Andrw. Furguson Be it remembered that on the 23d day of April A.D. 1814 before me Josiah McClure Regr. for said county was proved and approved the Last Will and Testament of James McAffee of Turbutt Township deceased of which the proceeding is a true copy and that Letters of Testimony in due and Common form of Law ware granted unto James McAffee one of the Executors therein named the other of wit Jane McAffee having Renounced. Witness my hand Josiah McClure Recorder.


James was born about 1745. He passed away in 1814.
