According to the 1930 US Federal Census, he moved to the United States in 1927[3]. Initially he was in Pleasantville, New York and was joined by Colinda and 5 of their children 5 children (the girls and the youngest two boys) on July 27, 1928.

The older boys joined the family in the United States on the 22nd of October, 1928.[5]
By 1930, a tenth child had been born (in New York) and the family had moved to Douglas, Massachusetts.[6][3]
In Douglas, Massachusetts, Charles worked at the Hayward/Schuster Woolen Mill. He likely did not own a car and in 1930 he was a boarder on Main Street in Douglas, much closer to the Mills where he was a cloth dyer, than where the family was living.[7]
Charles passed away in May of 1967 in Douglas, Massachusetts.[8]
