Research Notes

This profile had been attached as daughter of Darby. He and his wife Hannah have a daughter named Sarah - she was not born in 1766. A McCarty researcher provided the following about this Sarah:
". . . her father is James McCarty the oldest child of Darby and Hannah McCarty. Darby gave his consent for his granddaughter, Sarah, to marry Thomas North. Sarah was born 29 October 1767, her date of birth can be seen in the McCarty Bible, but not her name."

Location note: Botetourt County was created from Augusta County in 1769.[1] See additional location information in her aunt Elizabeth's profile.

McCARTY-270 and McCarty-143 appear to represent the same person because: No contradictions

McCary-9 and McCarty-143 appear to represent the same person because: See notes on McCarty-143. Added source for Marriage between Thomas North and Sarah McCarty.

If you agree these are duplicates, please complete the merge.

Thanks, Susan

McCarty-2785 and McCarty-143 appear to represent the same person because: I detached McCarty-143 from her grandparents, so these profiles can be merged. McCarty-2785 has source for 1767 birth; I'd be inclined to go with the family info (in McCarty-2785) over Ancestry for death info also. Please merge. Thanks!

Darby and Hannah already have a daughter named Sarah, born 1743, who by her profile was still living in 1766 (died 1802, Virginia). Please check your info. Thanks!
