John McClurkin came from Ireland with his family in 1772 and claimed 50 arces, indicating he was a single head of household. He died in 1792 and his will metions his wife Margaret, and two sons James and Andrew, who are also mentioned in his father's will several years later. In case that his sons were to died with out issue he instructed that his estate be split between his brother Samuel, his niece Mary (daughter of his sister Elinor), his nephew John (son of his sister Jane) and his niece Catherine (daughter of his sister Jenet). He made his father-in-law Andrew Walthe (Walker?), and William McQuiston his exicutioners and his will was witness by Matthew McClurkin, Sraffd Curry and John Boyle.

Andrew McClurkin (1787- 1858) lived in Chester and married Sarah (McCants?)
James McClurkin (1790-1866) married Sarah Lathan and moved to Tennessee
Slaves
John mentions one slave in his will, an unnamed black woman who was not to be sold during his wife's lifetime.
