DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jane by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
McColpin-2 and McColpin-1 appear to represent the same person because: Marriage dates match, Both were married to Joshua Gore in 1765. Both were the mother of John W. Gore (b. 1775). McColpin-1 was therefore not born in 1790, but more likely in 1748. It is believed she died in September, 1790, likely in conjunction with the birth of her last child, Jane Gore Deans. Joshua Gore remarried (once?, twice?) and had (many?) other children.
