Biography

Noel was born on 3 Apr 1907^[1] in Attala County, Mississippi. He was the son of Henry McCool and Alice Breazeale.

In the 1910 census Noel (age 3) was the son of Henry C Mccool in Beat 5, Attala, Mississippi, United States.^[2]

Noel married Blanche (Evans) McCool (1906-1986). They would have one known daughter together:

• Noelee (McCool) Williams (1930-2006)

In the 1940 census Noel (age 32) was the married head of household in Beat 2, Leflore, Mississippi, United States.^[3]

Noel passed away ion 28 Dec 1976. He was buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Greenwood, Leflore County, Mississippi.^[4][5]

According to my mother (Noel's daughter), Noel operated a store on a plantation near Morgan City, Mississippi. At a later time, he taught high school mathematics in or near Greenwood, Mississippi. From the early to mid 1950's through early 1960's he was employed by the Leflore County Sheriff's Department as Tax Collector. In around 1963 he ran for and won the office of Chancery Court Clerk in Leflore County, a position which he help until his death.

Noel was a very kind man and was well respected in Greenwood. He was a member of St. Johns Methodist Church in Greenwood, where he sang in the choir. He actively worked to raise money for a new organ for the church, which was not installed until after his death. When it was installed, it was dedicated to his memory. ^[6]
